Krutnowaste – vision hypothétique du projet (2015) from Krut’no’waste on Vimeo.

Krutnowaste is a project made by 4 students : Mikael Buch, Claire Eberhardt, Jenyfer Monchablon and I. This is a project about the self-sufficiency of a Strasbourg’s borough.

Krutenau is an old borough of Strasbourg where there is lot of restaurants, food trades, and café bars. There are also some little urban compost bins and little urban gardens which are sometimes vegetables gardens, but they are quite unknown in the district.
After observing the area, our team thought that it was interesting to reuse the big number of restaurants in an eco-project.

And the first thing that we could work with was the green wastes. So, we have developed an eco-project which goal is to tend towards self-sufficiency of the Krutenau. We create a cycle: first we salvage the wastes in kitchen restaurants and we make compost. Then, we reuse the compost to do little urban gardens.

/ First : Analysis and searchs of informations, questionning the inhabitants…

/Secondly : creation of a cycle according to the analysis

/Thirdly : Creation of a logo and a visual communication. There is an communication in the restaurants and also outside, in the street. Strasbourg give a compost box for cookers to do the sorting of green wastes. Compost bins are put in the street juste near the restaurants. Then, the inhabitants can creats with a DIT leaflet wood moduls to do little urban gardens in the city.
